Join Us - Advancing Transparency and Ethical Governance Across Europe

The EU Public Integrity Foundation (EUPI) is an independent European platform dedicated to promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical governance across public institutions.

EUPI brings together researchers, experts, partner organizations, and civic participants committed to strengthening integrity systems within the European Union and beyond.

1. Researchers and Analysts

Eligibility Requirements

  • Educational Background: Master's degree or higher in Law, Political Science, Economics, International Relations, or Information Technology - preferably with a focus on transparency, governance, or data protection.
  • Professional Experience: Demonstrated expertise in public integrity, anti-corruption policy, compliance, or digital transparency. Experience with organizations such as OECD, UNODC, or GRECO is considered an advantage.
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent command of English (C1 level or above); additional EU languages are an asset.
  • Research Skills: Proven ability to conduct independent policy analysis and data-driven assessments.
  • Ethical Standards: Full adherence to EUPI's Code of Ethics and confidentiality principles.
  • Expected Contribution: Researchers and analysts actively contribute to EUPI's projects, publications, and integrity monitoring initiatives across EU institutions and partner countries.

2. Institutional and Strategic Partners

Eligibility Requirements

  • Legal Entity: Registered organization (foundation, NGO, research institute, or university department) operating within or in cooperation with the European Union.
  • Shared Mission: Alignment with EUPI's mission to promote transparency, accountability, and public ethics.
  • Track Record: Proven history in governance, open data, or integrity-related initiatives.
  • Commitment: Willingness to engage in long-term cooperation through joint projects and exchanges.
  • Formal Agreement: Partnership formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) defining mutual commitments and cooperation standards.
  • Expected Contribution: Partner institutions support cross-border initiatives, collaborative research, events, and training sessions that strengthen the European integrity ecosystem.

3. Individual Members and Volunteers

Eligibility Requirements

  • Engagement: Genuine interest in public integrity, anti-corruption policy, or civic transparency.
  • Background: No specific degree required; prior involvement in civic activism, journalism, or IT transparency is beneficial.
  • Ethical Compliance: Commitment to EUPI's principles of impartiality, transparency, and non-partisanship.
  • Verification: Completion of a basic background and confidentiality agreement.
  • Active Participation: Willingness to contribute to research, advocacy, or project coordination activities.
  • Expected Contribution: Members and volunteers assist with EUPI's research, advocacy, and awareness projects designed to enhance transparency across the public sector.

4. How to Apply / Join Us Procedure

Step 1: Application Submission

Applications may be submitted through EUPI’s online contact form or directly by email to the Secretariat.

The submission should include:

  • A motivation letter outlining your interest and background;
  • A curriculum vitae (CV) or institutional profile;
  • (Researchers) A sample of relevant analytical or academic work;
  • (Organizations) A statement of objectives and cooperation areas.

Step 2: Evaluation Process

Applications are reviewed by the EUPI Secretariat and Advisory Council, evaluating:

  • Professional and ethical suitability;
  • Alignment with EUPI’s mission;
  • Potential contribution to ongoing or future initiatives.
  • Selected applicants may be invited to an online interview or coordination meeting to discuss potential roles

Step 3: Admission and Membership Confirmation

Approved applicants receive an official confirmation letter and access to EUPI’s collaboration platforms.

Membership may include:

  • Access to internal research and policy networks;
  • Participation in working groups and events;
  • Co-authorship of EUPI reports and publications;
  • Use of the EUPI affiliation title (Research Fellow, Partner Institution, or Member).

Step 4: Ethical Commitment

All members, partners, and affiliates must sign the EUPI Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Statement, upholding principles of transparency, integrity, and respect for data protection norms.
  • Violations of these principles may lead to suspension or termination of membership.
